One of the first books I read as I started looking at alternative ways of viewing the world was Living in the Light by Shakti Gawain – and later I actually got to visit her at her Hawaii home.
She introduced me to the concept that there is both feminine and masculine energy in the world, and that both are needed for creation:
- Masculine energy is required to set goals, take action, stay persistent, follow through, and “fake it till you make it” when needed. It is our doing nature. With it we define how we will choose from the many possibilities we could create in our lives and businesses and sees the goal through to completion. That is the energy we celebrated yesterday in the US, Canada and UK for Father’s Day.
- Feminine energy on the other hand involves the intuition, being versus doing, spontaneity, dreaming, and allowing synchronicity to happen. We definitely need to embrace this energy as we imagine what could be – and any time we’ve done everything we can and need to await guidance as to next steps (or even take a drive, a shower, or start painting or singing and just allow the ideas to percolate for a bit…).
Which are you better at using? Our fathers usually model the masculine energy for us (that’s me and my dad above at the Oregon coast), though these days it’s sometimes the mother that has to take that on – especially single moms.
This week as you pursue your goals and dreams, embrace both masculine and feminine to have a holistic approach to achieving them. You can do anything you can dream – just begin, Providence will meet you there!
To your wealth and success,
